This announcement is being placed on the Elk Hunting Forum so we can reach the maximum number of members and lurkers.

We are pleased to announce that Dan (Iccyman001), and Derek (Cohunter14) have agreed to serve the forum as moderators. The forum is growing and we are anticipating continued increases. With that growth comes the need to manage the forum so that we all enjoy it, and have a quality place to share experiences, and learn from on another. BTO wants to be the best and most welcoming hunting site on the internet. PERIOD!
We have a great bunch of people here and John, Brad and I consider ourselves honored to have you as a part of our campfire discussion.

Sometimes in forums, we say things that don\'t fit right. Sometimes it is deliberate, but often not. Sometimes what I read is not what you meant. I have often noticed just how easy it is for the writer to mean one thing, and the reader to see it differently. Some members have really struggled with that. I remember having one on my posts pulled, on a different forum, because it was too hot. I was angry about how others were being treated, and went too far for someone\'s comfort. Also, what one person finds acceptable, another may not.

We are trying to make this forum as broad as possible without diluting the quality. With that objective in mind, Dan and Derek have been empowered, and charged with monitoring the entire site, so that we can be a comfortable place for everyone interested. Let me assure you we do not want to change or delete anyone\'s posts or threads. We would like you to post what is on you mind without being concerned about things like \"Is this what everyone else thinks\", or \"Will they think I\'m stupid\" or something similar\". We want greenhorns, youngsters, and old sages coming together for a fun, productive dialog.

Iccyman001 and Cohunter14 have agreed to be our moderators. For that john, Brad and I are all thankful. These members have our full confidence and support. Our objectives as owners are their objectives, and we appreciate their willingness to take on this work without remuneration. In an effort to keep the camp a welcome site for any and all who wish to be here, our moderators will be checking for obscene, vulgar, inappropriate or illegal matters. If your thread, or post is deleted, or modified, the moderator will notify the owners and you will be told why. If you do not understand the change to your post, please write the moderator for an explanation. As Mentioned earlier, they are expected to manage their work independently. Just because your submitted material is modified or deleted, does not necessarily infer anything negative toward you.

Please understand, we are not trying to control you, more than absolutely the minimum to maintain the quality of our BTO forums.

Note: \"illegal\" includes plagiarized materials. You can attach a link, but please do not copy without written permission.

I can\'t thank you guys enough for giving me the opportunity. I love this site, its very friendly and full of knowledge.
I look forward to helping it grow :upthumb:

Yes, it will take TWO of us to watch over Swede...

I second what Dan said. The members here is what makes this forum what it is and I look forward to watching it grow because of what all of you bring to this place each and every day!

I for one, appreciates everyone\'s contributions, and especially Derek\'s and Dan\'s commitment.

Just so you all know, JF, Swede and I have exchanged hundreds of emails behind the scenes discussing all sorts of things regarding site issues, promotional items, and keeping the \'Internet wolves\' at bay. It is a daily dose, each and every day.

It is nice to know that BTO is in good hands and and we are going in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone that makes this happen

Brad

I sure agree with Brads post here. Now my only worry is that Derek doesn\'t delete my posts or ban me.

Well, I suppose that means we can\'t post any links at all without written permission. Getting pretty deep around here. So I think I\'ll just roll up my pant legs and mosey on down the trail :mg:

Bill, you misread or I misstated what plagiarize means. It is ok to attach a link. There is no problem there. I have been counseled that doing what is done on the on one forum, by an individual and maybe others, and not giving credit, and having no permission, is illegal. That is what we are trying to avoid.

What Swede means is that BTO can not be responsible for copyright issues that might get placed in our lap. WE, the BTO team, would have to take the heat if we allow copyrighted material to be posted on the forum. If moderators become aware that a posting has violated legal copyright law, they have the right to pull it.

Example, Swedes post will be edited if he downloads the Chris Roe instructional videos, coverts them to a different format, and then puts them on the forum.

Links to media on Facebook, specific Youtube videos, etc.....are public domain and are not copyrighted. If you quote someone specific, try to give a reference.

I\'ve never seen a copyright problem ever on this forum. If you do post something that could get BTO in hot water, we\'ll just remove it. You won\'t get scorned or publicly humiliated. We\'ll, you can do that to Swede if you\'d like! :upthumb:

JF, Brad, & Swede,

I would PM you about this issue, but the issue is dealing PM\'s.
I sent out two PMs last night and they are still sitting in my \"outbox\", not my sent box.
This is not the first time this has happened either.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I would have texted you Brad, but I figured you may be asleep. :dk:

Dan
The \'Outbox\' will hold show them pending until they are opened by the recipient

As I understand it, anyone can post a link to another place on the internet. That is ok. Nothing has been taken or plagiarized. All you are doing is directing traffic to another site that is in the public domain.
