After 2 days of scouting I\'m not sure I have any blood left in my body! I sure wish I hadn\'t decided to save 4 ounces by leaving the deet in the car. Stupid!
Gian, Benadryl makes a really good post-mosquito bite stick that I have been keeping in my truck since moving back to Oklahoma. Where I hunt in SW CO, I always have one Thermacell on my belt and another around my neck/head area during the early season!
My thermacell was home safe! I did pick up a stick and it helps. I refuse to scratch which makes them go away quicker too. On a side note I didn\'t see any elk sign. This is an area where I counted 10 bull elk the night before the opener. Amazing how they move around so much. I put out 3 cameras. I\'m going to leave them for a long time. No sense checking them when the elk aren\'t even in the area.
I just got back from CO for a 4 day scouting trip and Im right there with you. Them mosquito\'s where just horrible. Strange thing was the first two days we where on one end of the unit and I thought they where going to carry us away. The other end of the unit they where not bad at all, was really weird. It did help waking up to 32 to 35 degree mornings though for the first part of the day.
My cameras will be out for 2 weeks come Saturday. It\'s killing me!!! I want to see them so bad! The problem is it\'s a 3-4 hour drive and a 3 mile hike!!!! I don\'t really care about them getting stolen based on cost but I would be pissed after waitin a month for pictures then driving that far and hiking that far to find that someone stole my cameras! Hopefully I\'m the only one dumb enough to hike 3.5 miles to set cameras.
