musty smelling tent

Whats a good way to to refresh a tent that has a musty smell?

I would set it up outside, spray it off with a hoze inside and out, and let it air out and dry. The musty smell more than likely came from putting it away wet, so you might not be able to get it all out, but that\'s how I would go about it.

Nylon or canvas tent?

I recently set up one of my small 2 man nylon tents. It had a musty smell ( I think my son used it last)

I took a spray bottle with a light mixture of bleach, soap and water and misted it down, wiped it off and let it air out for a day.

Canvas is a different story. It may smell dank for a long long time even after treating it.

Look up my post about waterproofing a tent. WW made a reply that was very useful once I cleaned that nylon tent.
