Muzz or Bow

I had to face that question last year. The guys I go with were applying for Muzzleloader License, I chose to go with the bow and an either sex OTC tag.
I dont regret it. Out of the 8 in camp, I was the one of 2 bowhunters, and the first to tag out.
I am a bowhunter.

I am in that quandary myself, I hunted 3 years with a bow and got real close to getting a bull. Put in for muzz last year with 3 points and was drawn. Took a great bull, but I have a strong desire to get the next one with a bow. My wife and I want elk meat and know the odds are better with muzz, but it has got to be the peak to take one with a bow.

You guys are encouraging to stay with the bow. I love this quote...

There's more fun in hunting with the handicap of a bow than there is in hunting with the sureness of the gun...Fred Bear

Good God man here we go again!  Why are we all on this web site? Archery is the only way to hunt Elk.  To be amongst them danger close my friend.

Archery all the way! Its easy for elk hunting, but mule deer hunting is alot harder. This year I'm planning to get a muley with my bow! I'm thinking 3 point or bigger haha. I have had lots of chances with forked horns.

WardDawg7, you crack me up.

Big Tex, exactly what I was thinking, just needed someone else to say it. Love that elk meat but the challenge is greater.

MT_mulies, I believe you will get it done. I have spotted those mulies while glassing for elk and have thought about that challenge also. I'm not there yet, but it will be with a bow.

Thanks!

Now that I have hunted with a bow I would only change if my dad wanted to have one more rifle hunt before he stops hunting.
