What a season! Our camp went 3for3 on bulls this year, It Started off by Greg shooting his bull on the 3rd day of the hunt. He ended up killing A really nice 332 bull for his first Archery big game animal!!! Congrats to Greg, I’m sure once he gets more time he will post more pics and story.

After Greg shot his bull, my Dad and I still had our tags to fill. The first week went by and nothing, it was like a hit or miss every day on bulls bugling and for the life of me I couldn’t call in a decent bull. I passed on tons of spikes, couple of raghorns and a small 6x6. I ended up putting my calls away and went into spot and stalk mode. I still couldn’t get close enough to the bigger bulls without getting busted by cows or small bulls.  Time was going quick, we only had a few days before the season  was over! I'm freaking out now!!! All this time and money I have spent scouting and getting prepared for this hunt and it isn’t going to pay off… I started thinking about how I should not have passed on these other bulls and wishing I could go back in time. HA.

9/26/2012 second to last day of the hunt.
Woke up at 4am like we have been doing every morning of this hunt, bulls were going nuts behind our camp. I went one way and my Dad went a different way.  I found myself in the middle of 3 bulls and a ton of cows. Around 6am as the sun was coming up I had a cow almost run me over, I had to jump backwards from getting taken out!!! As soon as she passed I could see a bull coming up behind her. I drew back my bow and let out the most awful cow sound ever with the reed I had in my mouth, but it worked and stopped him in his tracks he was standing 15 yards broadside looking at me I let the arrow fly but had no clue where I hit him. He took off down the hill and I lost sight of him. I was only .14miles away from camp so I decided to go back to camp and wait for my Dad to come back.

I am sitting at camp now waiting for my Dad to come back, a hour went by and he isn’t back yet, 2 hours go by and still no sign of my Dad. About 2.5 hours of waiting for my Dad he finally shows up!!!! He came back all excited saying he shot one about a quarter of a mile away from camp and it dropped on a old logging road!!!So  We decided to go take care of his then go look for mine. This was his first archery kill ever!!! I was so happy for him to finally get it done!  He ended up killing a 5x5 and if there was a 12 ring on this elk he hit it! He couldn’t of made a better shot!!!

After taking care of my Dad’s bull we went off and searched for mine! It has been 4 hours since I shot my bull but it felt like 10 hours!!!!! We got down to where I shot him and had good blood right away. I followed the blood for about 30 or so yards and looked up and could see my bull piled up!!!!!!!!!!! I went NUTS!!!!!!!!!!! He went about 80 yards from where I shot him.  Luckily wewere able to get the truck back there to him so it made for a easy day.
It was so awesome that my Dad and I were able to get both of our bulls on the same day. We ended up calling it Father Son Day. Haha. This was by far the best hunt I have ever been on and was so thankful my Dad and good friends were with me. I will never forget this hunting trip! It was a long 16 days out in the woods and we waited until the end pretty much but I wouldn’t change it for anything!!!

Also wanted to say all 3 bulls were killed using the Grave Digger Broadheads! Thanks to Dale at No limit Archery for creating a awesome  broadhead!

Once we get the videos finish we will post them up.

We had a similar deal this year too...we went 3 for 3.  It was awesome.  Congrats!
