my wife\'s car and my car both have terribly faded, hazed, yellow headlights. we were a menace to the traveling public.
i was searching the internet for new headlights. i was seeing big money. like i could get a new bow or rifle money! i figured wtf? if i was going to toss the headlights into the garbage.why not punt and try fixing them?
i didnt want to buy a headlight restore kit. i just used a big bucket of clean water and 2000 grit sandpaper. i finished with a headlight polish compound. my truck came out \"okay\". the yellow is gone. there is slight milkiness to the lenses. but a VAST improvement.
on my wife\'s subaru. i was blown away. i think they are as good as new. stunning..clear, bright, crispy looking. trust me, there wasnt a bigger skeptic than myself.
not a bad investment for about $25 and a hour of my time.
i did use a UV coat afterwards. i will reapply that stuff at every car wash.
