you guys dont really know me. i dont \"LOVE\" all my gear blindly. if it sucks, i kick myself internally for the dumb purchase, and i will voice an honest gear report.
my new Elite Energy 35 is getting there..i\'ve been chasing a ghost. i HAD a Mathews Switchback XT that was magical. shot any arrow, any spine, any broadhead. i blame that bow for my bow tuning skills. they werent even needed. set up to spec..PLOCK! the arrow would shoot bullet holes in paper, and send the broadhead arrows next to my Fieldtip arrows. it could do no evil. it was bliss. i thought all bows were like this..so i bought a new mathews. a Z7. like a fool, someone offered to buy my SBXT, and i sold it. after a few months, i offered that Z7 a straight trade for my old SBXT back. i hated that bow. i felt like it had a finite number of good shots in it, so i shot it not so often. i wanted to save the good shots. (mental, i know).
that ghost was always there. and i chased it.
i finally got my E35 about where i want it. it is a totally new bow. new sight style (slider) small peep...long ATA..a whole new animal. i was nervous. while it doesn\'t blindly tune like my SBXT..it is nice shooter.
just yesterday at the range, i have surpassed SBXT accuracy territory. my first shot group was AWFUL,,but i noted my rest was cocked up cuz the cable slipped. fixed it..shot again. from then on out. at 60 yards, i shot 3 groups where all the arrows were touching. touching!! i could hear the faint click of the arrow to arrow contact at 60. they were low, so i adjusted my slider pin. WHAM!! i think my average groups at 60 were around 4-5\". at 40 yards..i just aim and plunk the arrows into the white circle. it was amazing.
i still have some balance issues with the bow. i have to fight it to level the bubble. but once there, i find i can hold full draw a very long time, so i dont have that punchy trigger of a hurried shot. i also dont have that creep issue where i slip off the back wall only to find myself wrestling an aggressive cam.
i\'m gonna put the ghost to rest. i wont chase the latest and greatest again. lesson learned. i think i am going to like a longer axle to axle bow. i\'ll focus less on the bow now, and more on the target animals.
a 20 yard turkey shot is gonna be easy..if i can keep my emotions and adrenalin in check.
