I made it to the stand around 2:30 on Sunday afternoon.

About an hour later a doe with a button buck came out being chased by a 5 pt and spike. They made a circle around me within 30 yards and went back in the thick stuff.

A bit later the button came back to the field looking for the doe. A coyote came out and they chased it off.

I thought I heard some sparing across the field in the timber about 100 or so yards away to the east. I decided to try the can bleat call.

Within 5 minutes I spotted this buck coming in from the north at about 60 yards in some thick stuff. Thought it was going to be the button buck again.

Looked through the binoculars and I could tell he was pretty good. I noticed he was busted up but I didn\'t mind. I decided I was going to take him if I got the chance.

He worked his way in to 20 yards and turned broadside but looking behind him. I started to draw and he looks my direction for a second then back behind him. I got drawn and let it go. Shot looked mid body and I thought maybe a tad back.

Looked at the time and it was 4:25. While waiting I saw a yote cut across the field. Got down and found the arrow but not much of a trail. I walked to where I last saw him and found blood there. 50 yards later there he was.

Great way to start November off, Seth!!!!

Will you be trying to tag another or is that it?
Thanks everyone!

Dan, I still have the chance at 2 more bucks. One rifle. And another archery after rifle season. Going to be picky though.

I think he messed up his left side while still in velvet but I didn\'t have any cams on this farm so I dont know for sure.

Congrats on the buck Seth. Exciting time to be in the woods in Missouri that first week of November.
