NE New Mexico Elk herd dead

Just to give you guys/gals who are heading to NM a heads up if your hunting north of Las Vegas, NE NM.

I believe this is in unit 46 or 48.

Just posted on NMG&F website. Maybe 100 , cause still unknown. Not poachers. Maybe disease. Could be lightning,that is common,but never heard of that many elk dead from lightning.  Unit 46.

From the info I read it could possibly be EHD. Source was rmef. I really hope it isn't because I have seen the devastation EHD has caused in the east with whitetails. The bear hunters in NM should have no problem finding the bears though!!!

sucks about the elk but thats a hell of a bear
