So I have a hunting spot that is really hot. The problem is it\'s about 3 miles, going west, in some rough country. Almost impossible to make it in the dark. I\'ve considered bivy hunting it but have never found a good water source. This area is a large bench between two rivers located to the north and to the south. Elk seems to have no problem going down to get water, however, it would be impossible for me to pack enough water in from any direction.

I\'ve been lounge chair scouting and found a possible spring. Can you all take a look at the picture and give me your opinion on if you think it\'s worth checking out.

Thanks,

jf

Looks wet ... Enough to drink? Only boots on the ground will tell. Probably, in some years ... Probably not in others .

Bring a pack shovel and dig into that old stream bed.
I bet there is enough moisture to create a seep

I\'m with Deertick ! Saddle up and check it out. Looks like a little trickle of a stream. But there is only one way to know for sure. I\'m betting it\'s dry as a bone to me. You could always pack in a couple of gallons of water each trip and stash them.

You can also check the date of the photo if using GE.

It\'s located down in the lower right hand corner by the coordinates.

The spot is sure worth checking out. I agree with Brad on taking a shovel. I have dug out moist areas and turned them into drink spots and wallows.

These can help, but I wouldn\'t totally trust them. I have seen them where there is snow and no leaves on the trees and it says it is July. I have also seen the complete opposite. Just an FYI...

We\'ve got a few spots like this (no water). We pack water in prior to the season and burry it. I know, that sounds like alot of work. It is, but it often ends with a bloody arrow and some big smiles! Good luck!
