One of my friends drew an awesome colorado mule deer tag so the last few days I've been going out with him until the rut picks up a bit. It's still super hot here. So I put off elk hunting for a bit and was helping my friend try and get a big buck down. I left my bow at home not expecting to see any elk. We hiked down into a creek bed where we had seen a deer run down into and at 50 yards I saw a cow. My friend, who was the one hunting, was about 15 yards behind me. I dropped stopped him begged him for his bow. He had no problem Letting me use it. I slip on his release sneak up to the ede of the bank look down see the cow standing broadside still 50 yards just grazing. I whistle at her to stop her and put my friends bottom pin right behind her shoulder. Let my arrow go and it sails about a in over her back. Turns out his bottom pin was 60 not 50. I will never leave the bow home agin if I have a tag in my pocket. Weathe I think there are elk in the area or not its always better to be safe then sorry. I'm young and learning the hard way lol

At least you have had the opportunity to loose an arrow :D , I will hopefully have that chance this weekend ;D ; but we have no cow season here in CDA :( .
