Let's hear it fellas what are you all shooting. I've been in the military the last few years and my last bow was a prime impact which was a 2013 bow. I like it a lot but  ready to upgrade. Looking for a new 2017 bow. I plan on going to a few pro shops and shooting a few but am curious about your guys opinions. Elk start dropping soon! Time to get the season started! Goodluck and thank you guys.

My compound is a xpedition xcentric 70#.... mbg, trophy taker, truball, beestinger 8", shooting fmj's. Shoot as many bows as you can. The thing that sold me in xpedition was how smooth the draw cycle was but also how insanely quiet it was for a speed bow with almost zero handshock. Plus the company got it start machining parts for aircraft and nasa w/ very tight tolerances so building a bow must be easy  ;)

I'm shooting more traditional every year though (big jim longbow and Wes Wallace recurve).... one of these years I'll lose the training wheels and go full trad.

All that said a 2013 isn't by any means outdated. If it works well for you I'd keep running it...

My go to bow is my 2012 Elite Answer. Have 3 other bows but keep going back to the Answer. Just because its older means nothing. If you shoot it well, get new strings and keep it.

I agree with both posts. If your old bow works then there's nothing wrong with sticking with it. I shoot a 2006 Parker Phoenix. There haven't been enough improvements in the archery world for me to justify spending 1k or more on a new bow. That being said if I was going to look into a new bow I shot a couple PSE's at our local shop and would probably look into them more if I was in the market.

If you can you should take a look at the obsession bows.. shot one just recently and it was sweet. I shot the def con 6 and the 7...
