I\'ve been wanting to get a recurve bow, and pulled the trigger today on a Custom Wapiti:
For the last 2 months I have been working with the guys out at Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear here in Colorado. They\'ve been great in showing me proper shooting technique and allowing me to build up my strength for a recurve, as it is much harder than pulling back a compound. I was able to shoot a few bows over the last week to find the one that fit and shot great for me. Then we matched up my arrow spine to the bow and got me set up with hunting arrows - Carbon Xpress Heritage 250\'s.
My goal is to get proficient enough to hunt my Colorado moose with it this season. It is 49lbs at 28\" and 58lbs at my draw length of 31\". Right now I am working on my shot - this group is at 10yds - time to work on my effective range!
