Hey just figured I would introduce myself. I live in SK Canada. I went on my first elk hunt last year it was an OTC hunt on public Land. Got my butt kicked but I am already looking forward to trying it again and for longer this time haha. We have a unique situation here our OTC rifle elk opens September 15 and it's usually open for either sex elk. The thing that makes that tricky is the elk love in the forest and feed in the fields all night. I am not lucky enough to have permission in the fields but the forest is all public land so that's where I hunt. The hardest part is seeing them. The forest is a thick nasty tangle where most of the time you can't see 20 yards. Anyways that's what I am up against. Hopingbtonsonlots of reading here and absorb lots to help me be successful this fall or at least see an elk this time haha
