I'm new here and was planning my first elk archery elk hunt in Colorado the year and was wondering what the terrain was like in gmu 79-68 thanks in advance

Welcome to the site.
I would help you if I could, but I have never hunted those units.
but I will tell you 1 thing get in shape.
Check it out on Google Earth, I am pretty sure that area is steep.

+1 on google earth and other Topo sources. I have not been there either, so cant offer anything.

Forum activity is low this time of year, you may get some input as the season draws closer.

Google earth.. That's big country, definitely do a scouting trip.. Or 4.. Never hunted it just been thru it. Throw down on a tag there. Only way to find out is give it a go! Best of luck to you..

iv never hunted there but plan plan plan have back up plans for your back up plans. you do the home work i find it pays off wish i could help more but on the areas the help can be limited. call the local fish and game agent for a starting place
