No fresh rubs, no calling, lots of fresh droppings, beds, wallows and tracks

Just finished scouting/hunting this past week (central CO mountains) but didn't see a single fresh rub, didn't hear a single bugle, cowtalk, and was left wondering if they are still in velvet?  I saw a bull but through thick dark pines walking away and found freshly used beds and a couple of wallows but wondering why it was so quiet and no rubs?  I'll be back out Wednesday and see what the labor day weekend pressure did.  Thoughts?

Not to sure what's going on. Here in idaho people are hearing bugles, seeing fresh rubs so it may be the unit your in. Hopefully it all changes for you.

I hunted this past Sunday in central Colorado and was able to get a bull going. I was able to get within 100 yds and he was nice polished up. He had a couple cows with him and i wasn't  able to draw him in close enough before a smaller bull strolled in. Passed on the smaller bull.

A friend of mine (birddog) is in unit 371 CO now and had a ton of action starting this morning. I'll be headed to unit 33 CO on thursday hopefull to get into the middle of it.

Hunted central CO all weekend and the action was HOT.  Called in a couple rag horns that busted out when my shooter moved at the wrong time! Cows were talking and bulls were bugling up until about 10 am.  I filled my cow tag opening day.  ;D

I saw some fresh rubs in central colorado. The weather hasbeen to nasty in my spot so I pulled out for a bit.
