Taken in my deer spot. Have never seen elk in this area before, although I know that they can and do winter in the vicinity. This fall, I started noticing bull rubs from September and fresh elk sign. Then we began seeing elk. By the time elk season came, we knew of two herds, including 5 bulls. Very interesting- we have been noticing in the last couple years, more elk in non-traditional areas vs. our typical elk area. I would bet it has something to do with less pressure and more forage- go figure! This spot is OTC, public land in SW WA.
