Oh boy. Blue globe covering my vision.

New headlamp. It is so bright. I turned it on facing my face. Dumb. I am temporarily blinded!! I think I\'ll use it on the \"low\" setting. The button is pretty solid. Should alleviate my problem of accidental button pushing in my pack. Used AA batteries so I hope to use this as my night jogging lamp.

I got the Zebralight H52F. Whatever that means. :).

Should have put this in gear forum. Sorry. I blame the blue orb.

I have one too, however, I stopped using it as my primary headlamp for hunting because of the after glow after turning it off. Once, I was trying to conceal myself from other hunters while walking out after dark. I turned it off, but the center has a lasting afterglow. One of my newer Petzl headlamps also has this afterglow. I prefer my hunting headlamp not to glow after I turn it off. It is a good feature for finding a recently turned off headlamp or when batteries die. Turn it off in a dark room and you will see what I mean by the afterglow.

As I recall, my zebra headlamp has a complicated set of instructions of short and long presses for the different settings. I prefer the simpler headlamps. For the few times I used the zebra, I only used the low setting. The zebra is now my backup headlamp in my pack because it will absolutely light my way through dark timber on a moonless night.

great insight!!

i\'ll check out the afterglow tonight. thanks.

and my H52F has pretty simple instructions. i\'m not even sure it is programmable like some in the 600 series. i\'m like you. simple is best. mine i just push and hold and it starts up in \"low\". i can do that.

i got the flood version, mainly because it lights up like a streetlamp. it is just a big BIG wad of light put everywhere. i bet i could get five guys walking together safely in the ring of light. it should be a great jogging headlamp. my flashlight is the distance winner..so i should hopefully have all the bases covered. flashlight for the distant..\"WTF was that noise?\" situations..and headlamp for \"follow me!\" and night time animal butchering.
