Saturday Cj (ihuntforchrist) and I went out to some New Mexico cliffs to hunt OTC Barbary sheep.

It was one of the most beautiful places I\'ve seen in a while.
Camped at 4500 and climbed up to 7500 feet at the highest point.
We hiked 12 miles, saw 4 really good Rams (no shot), and saw some really cool country. There are reasons places like this are OTC, but that\'s what makes it so fun.

I normally carry about a gallon of water on my hunts, but I\'m sure glad I listened to Cj when he said to bring two. If I have learned anything in life it\'s listen to the people who know. Seeing how he is a survival expert and has had a lot of experience chasing barb in OTC areas, I didn\'t even question it.
Turns out I could have used an extra liter or two. I ran out about 2 miles away from camp! All in all it was a great time and is gonna make me miss NM even more.

It was a great short hunt. Here are a few pics I took. One of these times, I\'ll keep the camera out and not miss anything. We\'ll also get you one of these mountain barbs someday.

The sunset was pretty neat that day too.

Were yall trying to bowhunt them? If so, thats probably one of the most challenging hunts there are.

We\'re not quite at that level yet. Getting within rifle range is already challenging enough. Hunting these cliffs is very similar to hunting ibex on the Florida Mountains except there are less barbary than ibex.
