I'm a bow hunter and need a new pack. I hunt on the Oregon coast in some thick stuff, i do quite a bit of brush bustin and need a pack that will hold up yet allow me to still haul meat out on a successful hunt.Opinions, comments, insight all is welcomed

Have you tried a bunch on? how did you narrow it down to these two packs when the Exo has not even sent out their first run yet? Lots of good packs available in that price range. The new ultra by kuiu deserves a look as well as oregon packworks in my opinion. Between the two you listed the Exo has caught my eye, but again, I have not ever touched one.

Ordered my Exo yesterday.  After looking at multiple other packs over the last 3 years there wasn't much of a comparison.  Kifaru, Kuiu, Outdoorsman, Badlands, Eberlestock, Sitka, Tenzig, MR all offer good packs.  It all came down to design function, materials, weight, size and price.

I have tried a few on Summerhorses, do you have any other recommendation? I Want to be able to haul 100+ lbs. Kuiu pack looks nice I've tried my buddies on it was sweet i just would like more pockets to store stuff andhave it be more organized
I'm going down to Kuiu next weekend to get some hunting gear and try their ultra 3000 on. I personally like the meat shelf that the outdoorsman pack has and how the meat hauling system is set up on the exo from what i have seen on their video's. I want a heavy duty frame and not worry about it being durable under the weight of hauling out an elk.

I definitely like the two choices you mentioned if you are looking for a pack that includes a meat shelf. I think the exo would probably have more flexibility and freedom of movement. I have been looking at them myself, but never buy before I can try one out. The price point on the new kuiu ultra is very desirable for the quality of materials used. My friend tried out the exo and said it was ever similar to his mystery ranch in design and comfort, so they may be worth looking at as well.

If you would like a great price on a pack and be able to haul 100lb+ I would consider taking a look at the Horn Hunter Full Curl Sytem.  It is extremely versitile and with all the different configurations of it you should have no problem organizing it custom to your liking.  It also has a great meat shelf between the pack and frame keeping the load nice and tight to your body.
You can find them for around $300 right now.

i too have been pack shopping and am down to these two as well i am going with the Outdoorsman pack system my self but both are designed by hunters and people who hunt both are rugged and tough and able to carry weight. i first saw the Outdoorsman on the meat eater show and Steve hunts like i do so i was drawn to it right off and after doing a lot of research i was down to these two as well i personally prefer the frame pack so that's why im getting it other wise id be getting the Exo. This is the first time i have even considered a pack that wasnt a typical frame pack so to me it says a lot about Exo to make the list.

I talked to one of the outfitters i know and he said the outdoorsman pack wouldn't compete with the exo hunting pack. He tested the exo and loved it so i'll be going with an exo pack. with how much lighter the pack is and for only 50$ more and a free thirty day trial i'm going for it. Good luck withthe pack search Cowboystl1

Having checked out both packs, I'd also definitely recommend the EXO 3500. They are a very well-designed pack....very versatile and lightweight, yet very strong and comfortable. We just added them to the Elk101 Store and will have them in stock as soon as the first production run shows up, likely the first week of May.

There are a handful of videos and more info here:

Exo looks like a great pack and even better now ELK101 is bringing them on board.  I was seriously considering the TZ4000 last year but couldn't come to terms with the weight.  Also, been researching the new stone glacier packs.  Same basic concept but even more expensive.  Exo is more the price point I was looking at.  Would like to see a little more field experience with them before dropping $500 but getting more and more tempted.

I have to agree about exo.  It is a very solid pack and is going to be a real game changer.  They have load tested this pack under very heavy loads.  The latest video they showed it under a 250lb load (http://exo-hunting.com/load-testing-exo-skeleton-frame-250lbs/).  I think it shows that it will take more than what most of us can carry.
