There is an older guy (70’s from Calif.) that I met via the RMEF several years ago. We have maintained contact since then and I just talked w/him about his 2013 elk hunting plans for CO. He and his son (from WA) both have 15 preference points, and he wants to use them before he cannot hunt anymore. I have done some analysis, and it seems like the best chance he has for what would be considered a trophy unit is in Unit 76, for the 1st rifle season (not the new early season, but the normal 1st season). They are interested in a guided rifle hunt, so I’m looking for some help in getting input/feedback from you all on any outfittes you have had any exeperience with in this unit.
The guy still gets around quite well and is in good shape.
