Do you guys every get into bedded elk on an evening hunt and decide to stay putted overnight?

never hurts to carry a bivy bag with your day gear.

One thing to consider when making a bivy close to where you last saw elk is to consider the wind/thermals for the early morning as well as overnight breeze. Last thing I'd want to do is spend the night and have my presence detected by a poor bivy site selection only to push the elk off.


I will say, nothing makes the morning alarm clock at O-Dark-Thirty easier than bulls bugling all night in your vicinity!
