A few weeks ago there were several post about packs and pack frames. You can spend tons of money on each, but since I\'m a tight-wad, I came up with this idea. It is a Molle II Gen 4 frame with shoulder harness and belt. All brand new stuff and you can find them on Ebay for $25-$35. They are rated for well over 100 pounds. Closer to 200! I added a shelf that is made from some nylon re-enforced belting and as many webbing strap as you feel you might need to hold your load. You can haul meat or just about any type of pack on it that you choose. As you can tell from the picture, there are plenty of attachment points to enable you to haul just about any load you might have. Plus the suspension system is fully adjustable to your torso and very comfortable. I usually leave it in my truck and haul the first load out any which way I can. Then retrieve the frame to haul the heavy quarters. If I\'m going back in real deep, I load my pack on the frame and take it in to spike camp with me.

Hope the picture works :wtf:

Picture works great!
Is that what Im gonna use when Russ and I come pack out your elk this year?

This looks cool. I have a couple guys coming from back east this year. It will likely be their only trip for a while and if we utilize something like these they can just bring their usual whitetail hunting day packs. I may try to make one just to have as a backup or extra if I invite someone else along on a pack out

Can you go into detail an materials you used to make the load sling and how you attached them?

The shelf itself is made of some old conveyor belt that I had laying around. It is fairly thin stuff, probably about 1/8th of an inch thick with 3 layers of nylon renforsement. You can make it any size you want. No critical measurements there. Look closely and you can see I cut four slots in the belting to weave the 1\" nylon straps through. And you can see the buckles at the top of the frame where they come up and attach to. The side straps are also 1\" nylon and as you can see, there are about a dozen different slots on both sides of the frame that you can run them through in different configurations.

The belting can be folded up flat against the frame when not in use. If you have any more questions, just ask.

Note to Russ: If you get a 370\" bull, I\'ll be happy to loan you my pack. Heck I might even bring the 4-wheeler out to haul it!
