similar to Dan\'s topic.

i\'m prepping for my first turkey pellet rifle hunt. i sighted my gun in for a mere 25 yards. got it hitting half inch high at 25 yards. figured i\'ll put my decoy at 15 yards and if they hang up, i can still hit the head shot. i was shooting off my backpack on a plastic table, and sitting in a fold up camp chair. despite the wobble - i was hitting some same hole groups. i\'m gonna do some sand-bag prone shots this week, and see what it can really do.

i dont know jack squat about pellet rifles really. i\'ll experiment out at various distances and see what is up. if i had a chronograph, i can do a ballistic chart. i have tactical turrets on my scope. i shoot a 10 yard shot and a 40 yard shot, and see where it groups.

it was tough sighting in my rifle with 1/4\" MOA @100 yards. at first i had it backwards. it was embarrassing.

It\'s amazing how good they are now.

At work I shoot a Diana that costs about 1200 with a 600 scope on it.... Animals don\'t go that far.

Cliff and Dan, how about giving us a little more information on your pellet rifles!

absolutely.

i shoot a .22 caliber. it is a Hatsun AT-44 QE. the \"QE\" means quiet energy, so it has a silencer. it is very quiet. i\'m shooting several pellets, but the most accurate is a 20+gr copper coated one. bonus is i wont die of lead poisoning. no chrono, but the shop i bought it from said i should be getting 750 fps. they shot 20 shots with a 11gr pellet to test and sent the chrono sheets..it was 1100fps. like mentioned before, the gun is crazy accurate.

my gun is a PCP. which means Pre-charged Pneumatic. so it has a cylinder of air hanging from it. it looks like the magazine of a shotgun. i\'m younger and elected to use a hand pump. it is a fantastic ab workout. i have to pump it up to 200bar which is 3000 psi. i get 20 shots maybe, and it will drop to 2000 psi. i pump it up from there. takes maybe 40 pumps. about 5 minutes since you dont want to overheat the pump. it looks like a bicycle pump, only way harder to push. about has difficult to push as pushing a shovel into the ground. not impossible for me. fun almost. my gun is a 10-shot. it has a cylinder i load and i only have to cock it to advance to the next pellet. i can and may invest in a bottle which make filling the gun a cinch. but filling the bottle is a PIA. if i knew a few firemen, i would do it. their tanks are up to 4500 psi i think..which is what i need to fill a 3000 psi gun.

it hits hard. i saw a bottle at 75 yards and blasted it off hand. heard it break, and realized it was glass. and went and picked up all the shards. i think it will blow thru a turkey head. head shots only for me.

mine is scoped. a ridiculous scope. target turrets, and this weird focus thing. turns out i can focus it, and use it as a rangefinder. weird. i dont love the scope. i might put a 1-6 Vortex on it. :)

Ill take a picture of my work one tomorrow.

Words just can\'t describe how silly this thing is.

Ready. 25 yards. Going for the eye shot on a turkey.

How is the trigger pull on yours Dan? Is there a way to adjust it?

The trigger pull is pretty nice on this, Bill. Plastic trigger, but still works just fine.
It has an adjustment for both trigger pull length and you can adjust the weight a little. (I don\'t remember the ranges off hand)

Im sending these .22 at about 1000fps :upthumb:
