Please, drive carefully

I watched this happen today. Just behind the tanker truck when the pickup crossed the center line for whatever reason. I got out right away, but there was no use. The pickup was engulfed in flames ... the driver was obviously dead already. There was nothing to do but stop traffic and call the authorities.

What an empty feeling.

I don\'t say this or post this to disturb anyone, let alone the family or the victim. In fact, I can only hope that they approve and would want everyone to hear a \"heads up\" ... a message to \"be careful\" and to err on the side of safety. I just disturbs me that tonight there is a family going through Hell, and I don\'t want my friends on the forum to suffer like that!

Text your kids and tell them to drive safely.

Bad day for that family. Unfortunately I have seen to many accidents being on the fire department and it is always hard knowing that a family will be grieving.

i think texting is a big problem.

i saw this a few days ago. i was driving in to work AC-DC playing. i came up to a traffic jam and slowed to a stop. i was second lane from the left. i see a BMW SUV fly past me on the left. it was going so fast right into stopped traffic...what happened next blew my mind. driver gets on the brakes hard and pulls steering wheel right. car went into a right hand drift..and ended up in my lane facing us. a complete tidy 180. the car in front of me actually hit the BMW in a \"head-on collision\". but it was a minor accident. i flip on my yellow amber and escort the BMW to the right shoulder..since he now had to do a u-turn. i saw, it was a family of four. wide eyes..i bet the interior smelled of pee and poo. they almost died, and the car they hit would have died too.

i was so happy it ended in such an innocuous way.

BMW\'s - no denying their brakes and vehicle handling..my tacoma would have rolled in that maneuver.
