We raise our kids to be the best they can be. Then we watch as they grow and mature into fine young adults.
My daughter and I were sitting on a park bench yesterday. We heard a faint cry.......Amelia....stop....Amelia...stop!. At first I thought Amelia had just wondered too far from her mom. As my daughter and I both turned we came to the realization that Amelia was a toddler and was running towards traffic. The mom was in hot pursuit. Without thinking or being told, my 11 year old daughter jumped up and ran after Amelia. She caught her, between two parked cars, right before Amelia darted out into the street. I arrived the same time the mom did. She was crying hysterically, I was trying to catch my breath, and my daughter was telling Amelia that she needs to listen to her mom.
Yesterday, I was so proud of my daughter.
