its raining again in northern colorado, imagine that. i set up my tent but had mud all over me an was wet an cold. so, i drove to a nearby town an got a hotel an hot shower. suppose to quit tomorrow. hopefully

Yup. Our basement flooded yesterday from the rains in longmont. I\'m stuck at work now but I imagine I won\'t be coming home to a very pretty scene tonight :x

What\'s the second week look like, Brad :?:

Oh by the way, I need you to go pitch a few tents for me at a trail head!

clearing off now. im still sick of the rain from last year. oh well, at least i get to watch football tonite an had a hot shower an meal. lifes good

Agreed, Bnsafe ... last year\'s rain was a real downer. I\'m really hoping that this pattern starts to break up a bit. But ... I learned a few lessons last year ... and I\'ll be more likely to bring appropriate gear ...

Rain gear is an obvious necessity ... but the other thing is that rain makes things COLD. And I\'m not a fan of \"COLD\". So I\'ll bring more insulation this year ... and maybe (maybe) an extra pair of boots. Wet boots in the morning are a real downer.

While I still feel I\'m young enough to \"man up\" to the weather, I also feel I\'m old enough to properly enjoy the warmth of a great fall day! And really, while I can \"tough it out\" in rain, it is more difficult to do when you don\'t have anything to prove. Young guys can get through a lot by just the competitiveness they have.

all this talk of rain in Colorado..... we experienced the monsoon last year, thinking it was the 100 year flood. the year prior was all sunshine.... now I am hearing that this might be the norm. we were miserable last year..... now I am kind of excited for the dryness we are going to have at our spot in Idaho!

Just pulled into Steamboat about 35 minutes ago. I made it all the way out here with no rain. Now if the weather holds up... one thing I did notice 47? feels much better than 100?. I think I can get used to this.

it is nice. we shoulda planned better steve. coulda met somewhere. good luck on your first elk hunt. you are in for a treat

The rain is nice, but I\'ve got 12 acres of hay that that I\'ve been waiting to mow for 3 weeks now.

more rain tonite. i was just getting ready to head into a new area an it started pouring. didnt want wet clothes so back to the camp. geez im tired of this stuff. wasnt suppose to rain this weekend.

I limped around in the rain today at 12,000ft, and i\'m not even hunting. Don\'t let a little water stop you boys. You won\'t shrink. :D

i would hunt in it but im out here for 8 more days an dont want my clothes wet. it supposed to rain today which it is now, then clear off for the next several. so, hopefully tonite

The wind gusts were terrible this morning. The rain wasn\'t too bad until 9 am. I hunted this morning. So far, I am not getting elk sightings. However, I saw a lot of fresh sign at a potential ambush spot for tomorrow morning.

I am tired of the rain. Looking forward to drying out tomorrow.

geez, i just looked at the forcast. rain til 7 tonite, then 0 percent chance til thurs, then 40-60-60 again for the weekend. i didnt tarp my tent cause it did well in last years monsoons an it wasnt suppose to rain this weekend. bad mistake, its seeping a little. now what to do

You\'ll have until Thur to dry off. :D

Bottom line is to never trust the weatherman for mountain weather. It wasn\'t suppose to rain this weekend.

Personally, I try to ignore all the negatives. If I have to hunt wet, cold, tired, or hurt. I just get on with it, and enjoy the experience. I know that contradicts my knee thread, but after thinking about it. I\'m ignoring it, and i\'m back to working out.

So, do your best, and go get an elk.
