Reading a topo map

OK, I received the map of the area where we are planning to go, and have pinpointed a general area. There are a couple of streams, some awfully high peaks (11 - 12k), and a few benches. Where would you start?

Michael, any way you can post up a copy of the topo on here? If you open it in paint, you should be able to edit it and color over anything that would give away your exact location. Without that, it is tough to tell you where to exactly start...
