Are the Reconyx Hyperfire series really worth the $500 your going to be paying for them?  Im just afraid of paying that much and it getting stolen

They are worth it. But yes, you will cry if it gets stolen.

Well if i get one then i better find a place that is at least ten miles off the main trail

Put a good quality lock on it and place it where you can place a bush or tree branches around it. Try and disguise it. I also place them a little lower on the tree and off the main trail. The Reconyx has such a good trigger that you will get lots of pictures, even with the camera set back from the trail.

They are worth the money, however, the new Bushnell Trophy Cam HD Max no glow camera is close in quality and one of the fastest cameras besides a reconyx.  Half the price too.
