Recurve for elk?

Is anyone here shooting a recurve for elk?


Interested to hear what bows and setups guys are using.


I'm thinking about picking up a 55lb Bear Super Grizzly and working hard practicing in the offseason. I know I will end up with fewer shot opportunities, just looking for a unique experience. Taking a bull with a recurve is on my bucket list...

Late response to this, but I'm using the same bow at 50#.  I'm confident it'll do the trick in if my aim is solid.

I'd like to take one with a stick as well. Have killed cows with longbows around 53 to 54 lbs but never a bull, because I have never had the bull tag to do it. Should draw this year.
