Scouting tomorrrow!

Tomorrow I am meeting Colorado Russ out in OK to show him around the WMA I hunt. It should be a great day for scouting and I am BEYOND excited to pull my pictures from the one camera I left out there.


I cant wait to get the rest of them back up. :dance2:
 
I\'m heading out to meet him right now. I didn\'t sleep at all because I just sat there thinking about what could be on my camera. Left at 3am and should meet him out there by 7:30. Results coming soon!!!
 
I have more bucks on camera, but I am head over heels for this 13 pointer and tall 9.

It seemed like they were moving a bit less on this card pull, but they are for sure going through there.



It was great to meet Russ though. He is a VERY nice guy who hooked my freezer up again to hold me over until I can load it back up :upthumb:

I look forward to some fun WT hunting this year Russ, thanks again.

This is looking to be a very good year with some of my WT hunts. I wont let you guys down!

Thanks Brad. I thought they were just about done growing, but these guys are eating well and still growing well..


I am already to pull them again, but now I have to until after my elk hunt :eek:
 
Wow Dan, every time I see the pics I am more and more impressed. You have one heck of an area there. I\'m anxious to see which one you end up throwing your tag on!
 
They all would get my attention Dan. Looks like you and Russ should have some good wt hunting this year.

I\'m going to check my cams this weekend. It will be three weeks since I checked them so I\'m keeping my fingers crossed that I have one getting close to yours.
 
Had a good time scouting with Dan - he\'s a stand up guy and I appreciate him taking the time to drive out and show me some spots. This is some crazy OK terrain and will be a difficult hunt but I think Dan\'s up to it.

I can tell you one thing, I need to get more mileage on the stairmaster before our next trip - that \"kid\" is like a billy goat. Then he told me and my wife that he was a little slow because he ran a 5K the night before! If I can get him to run a 10K, I might be able to get to the truck before he takes off.

Hope those snack sticks are okay - looked like one package lost it\'s vacuum seal and had frost in it. If dry, just have another beer.

Can\'t wait to see what your cameras show after being out a month.

It was very nice meeting you and your wife!
We cannot thank you enough for the meat. The snack sticks have opened me up to a whole new world of meat processing possibilities. I made it about an hour before I start snacking on the first one. :D

It\'s funny how I didn\'t really realize how interesting that place is. The fact tree stands cant really be hung will definitely make me build up my A game for ground hunting. I think you had some great ideas for some ground blinds and I will get those done as soon as I can.

I really hope you can make it out for a trip. There are certainly enough deer out there for us to both fill a tag.

I am excited for you! Pulling cameras have really become not only a great scouting tool, but kind of a fun hobby. I feel like it\'s Christmas every time I pull a camera.

I am anxious too. I\'ve very excited to see who will be walking by my stands once the season opens! I am really looking forward to see the velvet gone and how awesome they look with fresh bone :train:

You should contact Lou [Jacquomo] here and pick his brain about hunting deer from the ground.
He is a very accomplished hunter that uses a recurve doing what youre gonna do.

Dan, if you talk/PM with Lou, tell him we need 2 Whitetail hats made for the upcoming season! I know he has his mulie hats but not sure if they\'d fool a whitetail!! :)
 
Dan, if you think Russ\'s snack stix are good, you should try his chilli. It will REALLY open you up to a whole new world.
 
I\'m honored Bill. I\'m also wiping water off my keyboard that came flying out my nose!! LMAO!! Probably similar to your experience with the chili? I\'ll put a disclaimer on the next batch along with a reminder to take a couple extra squares of TP into the field unless you\'re just not liking a particular article of clothing! :rtfm:

I am a BIG fan of chili!!!! I will have to beg him to cook some if he comes out. I have a stove and slow cooker in the trailer Russ
