Should I be concerned my deer tag hasn\'t arrived?

With all the talk about people getting their elk tags and elk refunds I got a little panicked...especially with the recent move.

I will sit tight.

Yeah, you are good...the only tags that have gone out, to my knowledge, are elk and antelope :upthumb:

You can always call CPW and ask what is going on. I got buck tag this last Monday in the mail.

Is this by choice or due to draw odds?

Reason Im asking is I got PPs in CO for deer, elk and Lope this year but havent even begun to research the stats on how many it takes to draw what where. I\'ve done good to get an invite for an elk OTC in CO, but drew NM so this year is fixed. Id like to gather points to where I\'m 100% odds in a good unit before throwing a few more \"possible\" hunts into the equation. Ive found its a pain to plan anything when you play the LE draws in several states. So am I looking at 7 years for a good deer tag now, less point creep?

This was by choice, for a few reasons

Several years ago, the DOW [now CPW] in their infinite wisdom, decided to do a deer slaughter.
The intent was to curb the so-called CWD outbreak.
Thousands of mule deer were shot in the N Colorado foothills.
This turned out to be a big mistake.

The deer herd herd is just now starting to rebound.

Since there wasnt many deer in the foothills, I decided to hunt deer where I hunt elk.
That was until there was a bad winter and the deer herd took a big hit.

So for the past 7 years I decided to just apply for Pref Points and wait until my son had enough PPs so we could draw a hunt togther
