Sitka or KUIU?

I am a big fan of Sitka. I've used it for two years now. Recently though, I bought a single jacket and some gloves from KUIU and love them. Not only was it three times thicker and more durable than all my Sitka, it was half the cost.

Here's the problem. I've invested quite a lot in my Sitka gear and own quite a bit. I love it and the pattern is the best out there but I feel like I could own just as much KUIU for a fraction of the price, layer just as effectively, have a better selection, and still have a great pattern to conceal me. Just wondering if my thoughts are sound and reasonable and if so, should I make the switch.

My partner runs Sitka, and I run Kuiu. He prefers my ultra merino base layers and 4 way stretch pants.  Otherwise loves his Sitka. I think that Kuiu has better fabrics all around, but that is probably just me being bias.  All good stuff.  One thing you might consider with Kuiu is that sizing can be frustrating at times. My first pair of pants were 34s and I bought identical size 2 years later and found that I swim in them.  I wear size 32 now, even though I probably put on weight! Food for thought.
Bottom line is if you sell all your Sitka and run Kuiu, you won't see much of a difference. Just might have a few bucks left to buy arrows and broadheads or something. By the way the Verde pattern is absolutely awesome for elk!

Either will perform excellent for you. If you're paying retail for everything then Kuiu is definitely going to get you more for your money. If you shop around you can find Sitka cheaper like on Camofire.com.

Go with what you want, I'm sure if your Sitka is in good shape you wouldn't have an issue selling it. Just order your Kuiu plenty far in advance!

Also Jason who owns KUIU was also one of the developers and owners of Sitka. idk if this would help, but the history of KUIU is really cool. IMO

It all depends on what fits you best and remember the elk don't care if you match. Both of those brands are very good quality. I personally prefer first lite but could be caught in the mountains wearing Sitka kuiu and first lite at the same time.

If you really lite kuiu just start replacing your Sitka items with kuiu as they wear out.

I have both!!

I own a Sitka jacket and a pair of pants, both work great!!  I recently purchased some Kuiu pants, Merino shirt, glove, Peleton hoodie, etc.  Seems great, haven't hunted with it yet...

I will wear both in the field, the elk won't care.  If my Sitka gear wears out, I will likely replace it with Kuiu, based on price...

I am a bit partial, pro-shooter pricing, but the Badlands gear is very nice, fits my fat ass, unlike most of the Sitka line.
Look at them as well.

I dont think you can go wrong with either. I do agree with the fact that Sitka is double the price of KUIU, and in my opinion KUIU would give you the same results at a fraction of the price. Either way though they are both great and SITKA and KUIU were both started by Jason.
