wow. since i started exercising years ago, i sleep like a crazy person. i start yawning at 9:00 (okay 8:30) pm and start to think about bed. CRAZY!!

i do get up at 4:45ish am..and i am out the door at dark-thirty. but i typically get close to 8 hours of sleep a night.

my sister is a vampire. i think she sleeps 3 hours a night..but seriously, she is a vampire. no really. it would explain why she is so mean. :) and scary.

you?

as i age, am i gonna sleep more or less?

good night!

When you excersize a lot, your body loves as much sleep as you can give it to recover. My parents always say as they get older (they are in their 70\'s), that they sleep less and less as they get older...

I get to sleep about 10:30-11:00pm and awake at 4:30am. I get 5.5-6.0 hours of sleep. On the weekend I sleep till 6:30-7:00am. The extra 2 hours feels good.

Cliff,

I\'m in almost the same routine as you. I go to bed at 9 pm and I am up around 4 to 430 everyday.
I\'ve found 7-8 hours is my perfect range of hours to sleep.

I always try for 7 hours but it usually ends up like 6.5.

Up at 4:30 AM...and 10 PM is when I turn in. Just too many things to do for me to get to sleep any earlier.

My Wife is very Nocturnal...she might join me at 1 AM on average. She\'s an RN that\'s worked graveyard shifts for many years.

So, I guess I train for elk hunting all Year long when it comes to developing sleep patterns as well.

I shoot for 8 hours, but it doesn\'t always happen. 10:00 to 6:00ish is normal. The one thing I have noticed is that I struggle being up later than about 10:30 anymore. That used to be when the evening started back in my younger days!

I head to bed around 10:30 to 11:00 and get up at 5:30 to go to work.

I don\'t know why but if I go to bed earlier I can\'t fall asleep no matter how tired I am.

Similar to the OP ... Bed around 9:30 or so, up at 4:46.

Sleep is so important. Recharging the brain, literally, for the next day.

For many years I slept with one eye and ear open for a few reasons.
Now those reasons aren\'t an issue anymore and I sleep a lot more.
Bed about 10ish up at 5ish.
But I sure do like my naps whenever I can!

@9,800 ft 8.5-9.5 hrs. Nighttime oxygen level 80. Daytime oxygen level 90-92. While living in the mountains, I did my first sleep study. The doctor put me on oxygen at night because <90 is not good. I have a minor case of Sleep Apnea that has nothing to do with being overweight. They don\'t understand why I have it. Perhaps my small nasal passages contribute to it.

@6,000 ft 7-8 hrs sleep depending on day\'s activities. Daytime oxygen level 97-98. Nighttime 94-96. I no longer use oxygen at night.

@sea level 6.5-7.5 hrs.

While living in the mountains, I started doing acupuncture once per month. After starting acupuncture, my mountain daytime oxygen level went up to 95-96.

10 nights camping at 10,500 ft in September takes a toll on me. I am tired by the end of my trip. However, I hike a lot for 9 days of hunting and I do a poor job staying hydrated. I will alternate between hard and easy days to help with energy. For the end of September, I may camp lower.
