what a mess. My neighborhood spent several harrowing days watching a fire skirt our borders.  We evacuated TWICE!  They green lighted us to come back. Fire fighters from all over the country got it done. I saw a fire engine company from N Carolina I think!

No electricity the entire time. Power went back on today and we are back in our smoky smelling home. Blessed.

Loss of life; and lots of lost property. The next neighborhood over from us is scorched earth. No home survived. None.

Hard to compile a list of ?must-grabs? when the cops tell you it?s time to go.  I left every firearm and archery gear behind. You can?t store that stuff at a shelter. I did bring my binoculars to watch the mountain tops.

Next year better be better. I?ll probably draw a NM elk tag. Haha.

Oh.  Our brand new adopted dog was awesome. He knew it was his role to do guard duty. If I went outside he would come along and watch my back. He slept facing the front of the house every time. It was him that woke us up the first night when the S hit the fan.

Cool dog.

I'm glad you guys were able to get out safely and that the fire missed your property!
That's got to be such an uncomfortable feeling....

As far as the NM tag goes.... YES!
