So it\'s settled then... (rifle purchase)

After many of times going back and forth on calibers and guns, different scopes, and more...... I found the lefty gun I\'ll be buying.
I\'d love to do a custom, but I don\'t have time and I don\'t really have the need right now. Most of my hunts are bow, so it would be silly to buy a custom.
With that being said I am ordering the Tikka T3 Lite LH Centerfire Rifle in .270WSM and she will be glassed in a MEOSTAR 3x12x56 scope.

Gun:

Scope:
<!-- m --><a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://www.sportoptics.com/meopta-meostar-3-12x56-mcwhorter-mv-reticle-557160.aspx\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href);return false;\">http://www.sportoptics.com/meopta-meost ... 57160.aspx</a><!-- m -->

With scopes, gun and rings it\'ll come in around 8.1lbs and they have a sub 1\" MOA guarantee.
This is what will be killing my Oryx and Barbary sheep this year :D

The Tikka WILL deliver sub 1\" MOA if the loose nut behind the trigger can.... :lolno: :upthumb: :lolno: :upthumb:

I have one of those. It\'s a slick little rifle. Figure if I should ever hunt out west with a gun, that\'s the rifle I\'m taking out there.

:upthumb: Good promotion gift for you

I haven\'t heard a thing on a release date yet, have you?
We both know it\'s probably not gonna happen first time, but that just means it\'ll be next year! :upthumb:

Yes, sir!
I think if i\'m gonna be hiking around the mountains or for a good distance, 8 lbs scopes isn\'t bad.
Plus this set up should be good for anything that I fire at. :upthumb:

That looks like an awesome rifle and the .270 WSM seems like a great cartridge for general use. I don\'t need another long gun ... but if I were in the market, I\'d sure be pleased with what you just got.

I\'ve looked at that exact rifle, and it will definitely get the job done. I have a remington 700 chambered in .270 and it is one of the most accurate shooting deer rifles I\'ve ever owned. The ballistic performance of the .270 round is amazing!!

That is an awesome gun. Not familiar with that optic tho. Have you looked into Vortex as an option? The Viper HSLR is a sweet scope!

Yes sir, very familiar with the optics and they are top notch!
The vortex is also a great scope, but I\'ve nothing but great experience with Meopta and Meostar.
The giant military discount makes it nice too ;)
This gun paired with these optics will be a deadly combo!!!!

I feel bad for Barbary sheep and oryx this year.

Nice! I have heard of Meopta, and figured Meostar must be part of the same line. Vortex offers mil discount as well as a good program with <!-- w --><a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://www.promotive.com\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href);return false;\">www.promotive.com</a><!-- w -->

I agree the Meopta stuff is great gear too!

Very cool that vortex does discounts too!!!

Meopta is European glass that is American assembled.
Meostar is European glass that is European assembled.

I\'ve had great experience with both, but the star has the edge (price reflects that too :( )
I could absolutely get away with the meopta and never have an issue, but I just decided I didn\'t mind forking a little extra for the extra clarity.
My friend has their binos in both meopta and meostar 10x42s and they are awesome. I\'ll order a pair of those too.

I decided to change up my ring system and I am going with a night force aluminum rail and then attaching rings to that.
New weight should be around 8.5lbs!

9.5 with the bipod!

I\'m really happy with my talley LW rings. Priced right and solid.

Have you been doing some more shooting since you got it?
Did it break in pretty quick?

No I haven\'t shot anymore. Apparently in Colorado it\'s 80 during the week and snows every weekend.

I am still at 12 rounds down the pipe, but the bow is shooting laser beams with Broadheads in the basement at 19 yards!
