I used to have a carport... now it?s in the trees and my neighbors yards behind us...

My trailer was also 20 feet pulled up further.

Holy crap, glad it?s just material though, you can get that fixed!

My wife, daughter, and pups are good to go! My wife is still in shock, but seems better now.

Learned lesson today... take phone alerts more serious.

I was cooking dinner and our phones went off saying ?tornado warning?.

My wife said ?isn?t a warning bad, shouldn?t we be getting in the bathroom..?.

Me ?nah...?
Just then my dog barked, it went black, I saw a trash bin fly by my window, and we went to the bathroom...

Dang!  Never been thru anything like that.

Glad you are okay. Bathroom;  so into the cast iron tub?

Thanks guys  :upthumb:

Cliff.... bathroom floor and had dogs beds that I was going to lay on Alyssa and Remi once I heard glass start breaking. I just had them laying on the ground until then. Luckily that didn't happen.

What I think happened is we had the wind funnel hit us, but not a true on the ground tornado. I think if this was on the ground it would have been a different story.

Glad you're all okay!  Trick is to move the camper away from the house - tornadoes like trailers for some reason - think it's a power trip.  :)

Bracing for tornado season here in OK.  No storm shelter yet so hope nothing comes that close to us this year.

Do you guys have a basement there, Russ?
Will you get a storm shelter installed in the next few years?

My daughter and family is down there now. Hell of a way to spend spring break vacation.

Dan, very few basements here in OK.  Not sure if it's the sandstone or exactly why but not common.

I submitted our name for a FEMA subsidized storm shelter and should hear back from the county in the next month or so.  Of course it won't be until after this year's tornado season is over!  But, it would cover up to $2000 of the costs which I believe is within $500 of the total cost so worth waiting.

If we aren't selected, we'll still have one put in next year.  A relatively small price for peace of mind that 1 or 2 times a year when a twister may get a little too close for comfort!

If I ever lived near you I'd be running to your storm shelter.... mostly because I know itll be outfitted with delicious jarred and canned food from your garden! Chef Russ!

Glad you all are ok. Sorry for the damage but at least its things you can replace.
Thank you!

Dan can tell you what I had to say about the storm and also how much better it backed his camper next to his home than I could... I'm just glad they're all ok...

Living in south Arkansas I've seen way too many funnel clouds as well as tornadoes... We finally got a storm shelter awhile back but it was mainly for the wife, kids, grandkids and the dog... I choose to ride um out because I'm claustrophobic and the good Lord has protected me during the 3 tornadoes I've been very close to.... Thank the Lord none were near my home...

When we got ours FEMA paid $1000 toward the cost but those grants are getting harder and harder to get since so many folks are have storm shelters installed now..
