Socks?

Does anyone have a preferred sock company?
I'd like to start testing some new options this off season.

Right now I just wear Cabelas hiking type socks.

Lorpen Merino Wool for me off Camofire. I have looked at those Gore socks go to know they are good seems like they are on there every once in awhile.

I actually layer socks... Base thin layer of Smartwool or Under Armour and heavier top layer of Smartwool... Works for me...

Used wool socks for years, tried Gore socks this year I will never go back to wool, Gore socks for me, try them you won't regret it. Camofire has the best price.

I have smartwool and darn tough and give a slight edge to darn tough. I switched to over the calf socks this season and love them. Plus I defy anyone to beat darn tough's no questions asked warranty.


For everyday kicking around, COSTCO's merino wool socks are pretty dang nice also.

Try out the Kuiu socks. I prefer the longer socks they sell.

I've tried just about all of them, and I firmly believe Smartwool PhD's are hands down the best sock made. I still have the first pair of midweight phds I was issued 8 years ago, and they're still going strong after heavy use.

The closest competition I've found so far are Farm to Feet Damascus and Ely's. I've only had them for about 4 months, so I'm not sure how they'll hold up for the long haul, but they are definitely comfortable.

I just found some dark tough socks in dark green.... they match my uniform so I am doing to beta test them while I work.....

Do you miss wearing the combat boots yet?

Not really, I still wear lace up boots about everyday so there?s not much difference. I do enjoy the beard though :grin:
