Southern Alberta Elk Question

Hi all,

New to this forum and new to elk hunting. September will be my first time archery elk hunting. Would appreciate even a small nudge of guidance regarding southern Alberta if anyone has hunted it?

I plan to explore the Porcupine Hills, Bob Creek, and Livingstone areas. My general question is this:

For the early season, does anyone know if the elk are more likely to be up a little higher and further west, such as Livingstone, or are they in the Bob Creek and Porcupine hills that time of year too?

I noticed the Porcupine Hills seem to have way higher hunter success rates, but I wonder if that's later in the season with rifle hunters, and if they'll even be there at all until October or November.

I'm happy to hike my butt off, just a little guidance on which massive swath of land to start on would be hugely appreciated.
