Spring, Summer, Shed, & Scouting Picture contest!

We still have a while before elk season rolls around, but that doesn\'t mean we can\'t have some fun and spend time in the woods between then.
So to get people amped up and into the woods, Im gonna start a contest.

Over the next few months we have shed hunting, turkey hunting, scouting, running trail cameras and more.
So while you\'re out there, bring your camera and snap some pictures.

Contest rules:
Starts April 1 and end August 15th.
Each member is allowed to post one picture a day from their 2016 season, taken within the contest dates.
It can be a trail camera picture, harvest picture, pictures from your phone or camera, video or whatever.
Doesn\'t matter what it is either, beautiful scenery, a new found wallow, animals, a shed, etc.

Once the contest is complete the 4 mods will pick their top 10 favorite pictures. A lot of this can be influenced by positive feedback on pictures, so if you guys like a picture, tell the member how nice it is!
The top 10 pictures will compete for the top slot and the top 5 will win a prize!

Now for the kicker.....the 4 mods (Derek, JF, Brad and myself) really like taking pictures too......
While we can\'t win the prize, we may make it a little more difficult to make the top 5 ;)
We will be allowed to add one picture a day too and at the end select our 5 favorite pictures to add to the mix.

So when it\'s all said and done, the poll thread will have 15 total photos.....and the top 5 will win prizes!

Prizes:
- 1st place: 3 Wapiti River Outdoor calls and a custom VECtor deer grunt tube
- 2nd place: 2 WRO calls
- 3rd-5th: each will receive a WRO call.
This is just a start, I have an idea I\'ll be finding some more stuff to sweeten the pot.
So hopefully you can take better pictures than us mods ;)

Good luck to everyone and have fun!
Being in the woods is such an amazing time and some of us aren\'t fortunate to experience it on an everyday basis, so lets take some awesome pictures so everyone else can live vicariously through them. :upthumb:

Please let me know if you have any questions and again..... good luck taking better pictures than us mods   ;) :shh:

Okay, not the greatest of finds but shed hunting is friggin\' hard!!

Met up with TDiesel down in Alamosa to try coyote hunting. Well, long story short, we got a late start due to me running behind and weren\'t able to call in any yotes.

However, as we\'re driving out, I see an elk....then another....25-30 bulls cross about 100-150 yards in front of the truck start filing over the fence. Several still have head gear but others had dropped. So, after I got Tod out and talked with landowner, I went back and trailed those elk over a mile just knowing I\'d find a shed. Nope. Did get a blister though!

Found the old muley shed on my hike back.

Contest Pic for my son Kenny. Here\'s a pic of his Nebraska turkey taken this morning. This bird was exceptionally long, Kenny is 15 and 5\'7. With the tom\'s legs over his shoulder you can only see Kenny\'s legs and his core 4 camo blends in exceptionally well I think. I also like the colors of the turkeys head. Blue in the top, red in the jaw area and white in the waddles, he was strutting and gobbling all the way in. Sorry about the sideways pic, I\'m not sure how to fix and when I click on it, it straightens out :D :D :D

Nice pic Kevin.

If your pic is from your phone the next pic you take turn your phone sideways when you take a pic. I have the same problem with phone pics.

It is, I\'ll try that next time.
In the meantime if you click on it, it will enlarge and straighten out.
Thanks!!!

Came home from town this morning and found this laying in the front yard. It was freshly dropped. I\'ve seen this buck several times this winter. Mighty nice of him to deliver that bone for me. Maybe he will do it again next year!

It is a Pasque flower, one of the first to bloom in the Colorado foothills up to 9500 feet or so.
