Went steelheading on the Brule Saturday. My buddy got a 26\'er and I got my thumb. Nothing like a little streamside triage to make a day into an adventure.

Oh, and the thumb pic was taken during my \"break\" after using my forceps to drive the tip (which was buried) out the tough part of my thumb so I could cut it. That part was the worst and kinda made me sweat a little. :ill:

i have to say im impressed you took it long enuf to get the pic. well done, your man card gets bonus points

I took the pic when I had to take a break because I was starting to get the \"sweats\". That was just after I had to use my forceps to force the point out through the thick skin so I could cut it. That was definitely the worse part. After the barb emerged from my skin the pain almost disappeared. I just wish I had more witnesses (like some of my bullies in junior high) to show how TOUGH I really am. :)

I use a steelhead nymph for brown trout.
I got it out of Jack Dennis\'s fly tying manual
Its called the \'Silver Hilton\'
The fish just destroy that fly
