went from a 5 pin fixed sight to a 1 pin slider 3 years ago. HHA 5510 great sight shot that for three years and loved it. There was a handful of times that I had to wait to draw my bow because I wasn\'t sure which trail they were going to take. Had too sit there and wait so I could adjust my sight and then draw for the shot. Got caught a couple of times drawing my bow, was lucky enough too still pull off the shot. Now I decided to go with a 3 pin slider so I would have 20,30,40 yd fixed pins and then adjust from there. What I didn\'t realize is how much the horizontal pins obstruct your target after shooting the single pin. I\'m going too shoot it through the summer to see if I can get use to it again. Anybody else have any issues with changing your sight?

I have always used 5 fixed pins - 20yds - 60yds, so Im not much help.
But when I shoot my recurve with no pins, the sight window is a whole lot bigger!

I think after a few rounds of shooting, you will find the other pins disappear.

Keep us posted.

Archery Bum my answer would be yes. Last year I went from a single pin slider to a 5 pin fixed and missed a 15 yd shot at a turkey. My single pin had 1 green pin and my fixed 30 yd pin is green. You can probably guess where my arrow went! I had gotten it down a little better by deer season but it still takes a lot of thought at the moment of truth, which is probably good actually. The reason I switched is because I am thinking, right or wrong, that a 5 pin might be better for elk.

Do you close your off eye when shooting ? If so try shooting with both eyes open, if you\'ve always done it, it will almost be like starting over but with some practice your brain will quickly adapt. While this may or may not be the best for target shooters, I find I\'m much more aware of my surrounding in the moment of truth.

I must add that ive never had a \" bow technique \" class, this is just what I\'ve found works for me. I started shooting 7 pins 3 years ago.

I\'m left eye dominate and shoot right handed, so I do close my left eye when shooting. I have tried too open both eyes when holding at full draw but never let one fly. Just looks a little screwy with both eyes open. Ya from 1 pin back too multiple pins definitely takes some getting use too again. Been shooting all week with it and starting too come back around.

hahahha..

we must have been separated at birth..same left eye righty shooter.

i too just switched to a 3 pin with slider. but coming from a 7 pin, i feel like i have tons of sight guard real estate.

i kept my 7 pin just in case this goes to hell in a handbasket.
