Taking a woman elk hunting

So next fall, I'm heading to an outfitter with my dad and two brothers.  I'm not too thrilled about going to an outfitter, but it will be a once in a lifetime trip for all of us to hunt elk together.  That being said, it stirred something in my wife to make her want to go elk hunting with her bow.  I'm super excited about the prospect of taking her in 2016 to hunt in Colorado.  My question is.....Does anybody have any advice for a unit in Colorado that may have a little gentler terrain that I could take her too?  I will be trying to get her in the best shape possible, but I know that it will be hard on her.  Hell, it's hard on me.  I'm not looking for anybody to tell me the spot that they hunt, I'm just looking for a direction to go in to try and plan for a hunt to take her on.  Thanks for any advice.

man i would take her any place you would go if you hold back for her you will regret it look at it this way you now have a training partner to push you and push her (330 some odd days till elk season time to hit the gym) ;D she will be fine just listen to her when she says she cant keep going then stop. push her and ill bet she will push you as long as your open and communicate well youll be fine and youll have to change little.

Best of luck to you and I'm sure she will shoot a bigger bull than what you shoot. That's just usually how it goes.

Go backpacking and get a feel for how the hunt hikes will go. It'll give you a baseline for expectations in the wild. Mater of fact... take her on several. Never hurts to ha e your woman in the woods if she keeps up well.

Don't kill her on  a DIY back pack hunt. Find a private land tree stand or waterhole hunt where there's a lot of game..I t might cost more but in the long run it will be the best money you ever spent.

If she packs in shoots a bull, butcher it and pack it out you could be in luck.....or very sorry,LOL.
Go easy on her and get her into hiking 1st,in shape, give her a decent camp and help out on first hunt and you will be gold! 8)
Never know, giving her a trip with packer on a hunt like that, could still be best investment you ever made in YOUR hunting life in long run.....

What a bunch of gingers :)....Your wife will probably smoke you...women have stronger leg muscles than men.
Take her someplace you can call her in an elk, lower sloped areas always attract more hunters but the rough country very few. Calling in an elk for the old lady is nothing but good news for you

?? Why limit yourself to a hunt in Colorado ?. personally that would be my last choice, there is a lot of good Elk hunting in other States too.  IMHO
