It's amazing how quick tenderloins can disappear :)

First meal was just tenderloin steaks, some diced potatoes, and onions.

The next meal was tenderloin steaks, garlic bread sticks, and garlic mashed potatoes with diced green chilis.

The final meal was flour tortillas, eggs, pepper jack cheese, diced green chilis, and left over elk tenderloins.

Aren't camp meals the best?

Good luck to all of your still hunting!

WOW!!

i am one of the oddballs..Tenderloins are not my favorite.  they are GREAT..dont get me wrong, but still not my fav.

i NEED to figure out where the hell the hangerSteaks are..that apparently is supposdly the tenderest part of any hoof beast.  dunno..i dont know what they look like on an animal.

Mine wasnt at camp, but the tenderloins are usually the first to go. This may be a little rare for some, but its the way we eat them!
Great feast you have there.

I'm drooling looking at your picture! That's typically how mine are cooked too.
Thanks for sharing!

Are you sure that your "hangerSteaks" aren't the tenderloins? We aren't talking back straps. The tenderloins are the most tender cut. They are inside the chest cavity. When doing gutless method you need to cut into the cavity right along the back starting at the last rib and go back to the hip being careful not to cut into the paunch. The tenderloins are right there along the back. you can almost remove them without a knife, they are so tender.
