haha.

man,,there is definitely a BRIGHT SIDE to renting. so i buy this house.

one thing i kinda missed. the lady i buy the house from, planted BAMBOO! seriously WTF? she insisted that they installed a barrier. she said it was a steel barrier. being me, i poked around after i got the home (not before). the metal part is maybe 10 feet long. the rest is wood. and there is a missing section. so needlesstosay, i have been doing what i call, \"BATTLE ROYALE\" with the escaped rhizomes. fairly easy. they run shallow and give up their position with shoots. a shovel, and yank..it comes up fairly easy.

my wife loves the bamboo hedge. it is pretty striking and beautiful. but my wife is NOT the lady doing Battle Royale. i am. last night i think i convinced her to let me do elevate Battle Royale to the NUCLEAR OPTION. i am gonna remove the hedge.

i called a bamboo nursery and he told me to quit reading the internet. he said bamboo is easy to remove. super shallow and the root ball might get to 16\", but i can yank it with a come-along. or a 4x4 high lift jack. he said hire some labor and attack it.

i\'ll probably find the old lady\'s pet termite colony later..under the house. :D

I can send some more to you Cliff if you ever need some more.

meeting with an expert bamboo gardener tonight. gonna discuss a quote to remove. (horray!!)
if i need arrow shafts, i can harvest the escaped plants on the other side of my property....big \"opps!\" on the previous owner\'s part if you ask me.

my ordeal is almost over.

got a pro quote and almost swallowed my tonque when i heard the price. $5700!! that would destroy my hunt budget forever.

but i halfheartedly thought about it. thank GOD my wife is not only beautiful, but smart. she got a fence quote from a landscaper. the guy walks up and said, \"oh, i see..you need a fence after this bamboo hedge gets removed. i just did a similar job\" my wife saw pics of the job, asked about his technique and it was the same as the big money guy. she hired him on the spot and let me call off the other guy. (he was a bad business man anyways. he wanted to do my job as a filler between jobs. it would take him MONTHS!)

i\'m getting a fence and bamboo removed at a fraction of the first quote. way way cheaper.

they are almost done. they used a JACKHAMMER to remove the bamboo. i decided i am gonna risk it and jump the fence and cut down all the renegade shoots and poison them. i hope a concerned citizen doesnt call me in. i cant afford to have it creep back in. i\'ll install a bamboo barrier if i can, but i dont know if i have enough room to run a trencher.
