I thought it might be interesting to some of you to know the background of the GKE photo. GKE is my brother. He does not hunt, but he goes with me scouting and setting up. He may also stay a day or two into the season, but his interest is in being out with me, and enjoying the outing. I found those antlers one evening early in the season on my way back to my truck. It was nearly dark when I saw the first one. I was within 200 yards, or maybe 300 yards of the road. I stopped and marked the location of the antler on my GPS. I planned to come back the next day and look for the other. Often elk shed their antlers very close together. After taking in the waypoint I started to walk on to the truck. I took four or five steps in the fading light, and there right in front of me was that other antler. My brother George took the photo of the antlers on his way out of camp, the next day, before he got to the highway.
George had no interest in the prize. I just wanted him to submit his photo. I have a copy of it here and will have it on my wall, when George finishes the frame. The photo is 24\"x36\". Hurry up George.
