For years I have gathered a bunch of sage and put it in my camo clothes bin.
I then set it out in the sun for a while and let it cook.
By the time season rolls around my clothes have a nice aroma to them.

I have sent packages to FM (Francis) in Minnesota where there isn\'t any sage and he does the same.

I package them with my vacuum sealer and when I need one I use a paper punch to make some holes.

FM - I will send yours out tomorrow.
If anyone else wants a package let me know

very nice gesture brad! if I wasn\'t able to pick some up for my own next week. I would take you up on your offer.

Thanks Brad. The vacuum sealer is a great idea. Last year I put it loose in my bag and bin. A little itchy at times when it gets in somewhere you don\'t want it :problem:

Great Idea Brad! I put cedar branches in mine. Don\'t have a vacuum bagger though. The cedar is available year round in my yard. I sure do love the smell of sage though!

It will keep the elk away also if they get down wind of you. ( You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time ) But, you can\'t fool an elk\'s nose any of the time. HUNT THE WIND!!!!

I had planned on rubbing down in cedar or pine. Whatever is prevalent in my area. Been using cedar for years in MO. Ive even chewed it a time or two. Tastes  terrible.

I like it! I usually throw in a bunch of dirt and aspen leaves in a bag with my gear while I am out there overnight. Seems to work pretty well in making me smell like dirt haha. But yeah WW has it right, wind is everything!

Don\'t know Swede sometimes walking in the dark I still get this eerie feeling I\'m being watched.

I have done the same thing for years, but never thought about the vac-bag trick. That\'s a great idea. It may not fool all the elk all the time but I just need it to fool one elk one time.

I thought you Colorado folks were stuffing a different smelling leaf into those Ziploc bags. I know some hunters like to use smoke as a cover scent. Colorado and Washington hunters should have a great opportunity now. One plant can do it all. lol
