The things you haven\'t done... YET

I have never shot a bear and don\'t want one, but I would like to shoot a cougar someday. I have had a couple of chances, but it never happened. Maybe next year. If I get the opportunity I would like to get a moose someday, but I don\'t think it will happen. I guess I don\'t want it bad enough.

Personally, I\'m working on my second million. I gave up on the first one!

for hunting i want a bear, moose, an maybe someday a osceola turkey just to finish my slam. other than that i dont have anymore realistic bucket list animals to take. would love to get into some mallards in the timber someday.

Heard a bugle in the wild and kill an elk. Got hearing aids this week so I\'m a lot closer on the first one, and I have 9 months to work on the second!

At least temporarily, I\'m not so goal-oriented with hunting right now.

But ... goals are needed for progress to be seen.

We were talking over 2015 goals yesterday in a little bar watching football. I may have brought on a little trouble for myself when I said that I am thinking about riding the Bighorn 100 ... 100 miles on a horse in less than 24 hours, starting and finishing at about 4000\' but reaching just over 10,000\' at the half-way point.

I\'m not that big of a rider, but it would be a goal. Son #2 and Wife have done it, and I have a reputation to uphold.

Oddly, though, as above, I\'ve seemed to have lost many of my \"once-in-a-lifetime\" goals lately.

My dad died last week, though, and it did get me to thinking that I\'m not getting younger, and I don\'t have nearly enough stories to tell in my old age.

So, maybe I will do that Bighorn 100 ... or someday walk the continental divide ... I will get back to Alaska several times before I die (hopefully) ... I\'d like to learn to shoot a recurve well enough to hunt with it ... I\'d like to raft a river in AK ... I\'d like to learn taxidermy, for some odd reason ... and maybe to someday have a little cabin somewhere to fix up.

All of these things can be done, but require the will to decide.

But decisions must be made carefully, because they commit you to actually -- you know -- DOING what you decided to do!

Sorry to hear about your fathers passing, Tick. But just remember, \"He isn\'t gone! He\'s just scouting out heaven for your next big adventure together\"!

x3 John...sorry about your loss.

A 300 class bull would be up toward the top of my list. I guess the first step towards that one is to stop getting cow tags as often as I do :D

x4 john...

Well I never got to kill that bull elk I wanted to BUT I\'m still blessed to have met all ya\'ll on the internet over the years....

Someday I want to go after caribou and moose with my bow. I would like to arrow a Mariam turkey. I have only hunted whitetails in Mn and would like to hunt another state someday.

Big bull elk. Big bull moose. Big mule buck. Mountain Lion. Bighorn sheep. Antelope. Brown bear. Can I afford to do it all NOPE but it\'s fun to dream.
