I did get to go deer hunting the week before my wild ride of a biopsy... :upthumb: :upthumb:

That week was almost as wild a ride as the past week but I spent it in the outdoors and not a hospital bed...

Deer were very inactive for most of the week but I did have one god day of activity (Monday 11-16)... I saw what I thought was a shooter buck at 6:30 AM that morning.. Big body and what appeared to be good antlers... So I too the only shot I got when he turned to go into the thicket... :shh: :shh:

As soon as touched of the round I aready had second thought\'s but what was done was done...

Waited about and hour and when to where the buck had gone in the thicket found hair and blood... Marked the spot so I could find it again and went back to my stand and continued to hunt... Before I got settled in good I saw a small and young 4 point... The another young 4 point but a little larger body... Then the hunt changed in a hurry...

Out stepped a real big body buck with tall light colored antlers... :D :D 270 up and off safety in a wink.. ;) ;) He strutted around like a big old long beard turkey for 5 minutes giving me a lot of times to shoot...I almost touched of another shot several times... He just wasn\'t a monster... Just tall and narrow... If he had been tall and wide the 270 would have spoke again since we can kill 2 bucks per season and they can be killed on the same day... BUT I LET HIM WALK, saying under my breathe how much of a \"lucky buck\" he was...

5 minutes later a small young 8 point stepped out from the same spot... This youngster looked identical to the bigger one that had just gone except for body size and antler size... No problem passing on him...

After and hour or so my buddy that takes care of me and my deer when my son isn\'t there text me and says he and another buddy are on the way to find my buck...

They get there and after a very short recovery (for which we all were glad for) they drug a decent 8 point out of the thicket... He did have a broken G2 on one side and was a big body buck... Lots of good eating... :D :D

No pictures of the buck I killed that Monday since my phone quit on me the next day and I\'ve not yet been able to recover my pictures on that phone.. :( :(

Bad thing is the buck I passed was BIGGER than the buck I shot...

Aint\' hunting and life fun... :D :D

Sounds like a great day of hunting Phil. Congrats on the 8 pointer. :upthumb:

Good hunting Phil
I have to come realize that no matter what, there is always a bigger one and the one on ground is big enough :)

My wife save these pictures I sent to her... :upthumb: :upthumb: Anything other than that you just have to take my word.. :D :D

Like I said no monster but a good one for where we hunt....

That\'s a great buck, Phil!!!! :upthumb: :upthumb: :upthumb:

I hope you had a victory dinner with some backstraps :)
