Tick spray and elk hunting

Another post made me think of this. Does anybody spray their hunting pants with tick spray for hunting in the mountains? Are ticks a problem in the mountains?
I spray all my hunting pants with Sawyer Permethrin for whitetail hunting here in Wisconsin. Before doing it, sometimes I found numerous little deer ticks on me. Since spraying, seldom find a single one. So when I hunt out west, I just naturally spray them. Am I just wasting my spray?

Thanks
Dan

Not sure just where you will be hunting, but, I have never had any problems with ticks or skitters in September during the Colorado elk season. About the only troublesome bugs you will find are yellowjackets and blow flies.

I do the same for southern Missouri if I\'m hunting early. I haven\'t used it out west and never seen a tick out there. That\'s one of the nice things about the mountains, virtually no bugs.
